In the Issue Tracking System
(ITS)
users inherit their User Rights from the
User Rights of the User Groups they belong into. When user is assigned
user roles (groups) using the Add New
User or User
Profile Update pages, he/she inherits all the rights
from the user groups he/she belongs into.
User Groups
Users of
the Issue Tracking System can belong to one or
more of following groups :
- Issue Tracking System
Administrators
- Product Managers
- Product Developers
- Product Testers
- Product Supports
- Product End-Users
These groups are matching exactly user
groups described in the Users Of the
Issue Tracking System document.
Please, take a look at that document
for more information about user groups.
User Rights
User of the Issues
Tracking System can inherit following rights from the
user groups he belongs into.

User can open an
issue. If user does not have this
right then he/she cannot open an issue. Instead, on
the New Issue Page will be displayed list of
support team members who can act as intermediaries when filing the
issue. |

User can update any
issue.
If user does not have this right then he/she
can update only the issues he opened or is
assigned to. |

User will be able to
select an user to whom the issue
will be assigned. Issue can be assigned only to
product developers, managers and suport team members.
If user does not have right to assign an issue,
Issue Tracking System will assign issue
automatically to one of the product managers.
If there are not product managers in the system,
issue will be assigned to one of the product
developers. If there is no product developer in
the system, the issue will be assigned to one of
the product support team member. If there is no
product support person in the system, the issue
will be assigned to one of the Issues Tracking
system administrators. Issue Tracking System is
assigning the issues evenly to the users of
mentioned groups. |

User have right to open
the issue on behalf of somebody else from the
product development team. This right also allows
to change the person who is marked as issue
'opener' later after filing the issue. |

User have right to see
user profiles of another users and to use the Users
Summary Page to browse through database of
Issue Tracking System users. If user does not have this
right then he or she can view
only user profiles of product support team members or users
to which are assigned his or her (meaning issues
he or she opened) issues. Users which do not have right
to see other users profiles do not have
access to the Users Summarypage. |

User can delete, add users
into the Issue Tracking System and update
User Roles fields of
existing user profiles. ITS Administrator user
role can be set/updated only by existing
Issue Tracking System
administrators
. If user does not have this
right then he or she can update only his profile
without being able to update his/her User
Roles. |
